OpenNETCF Calendar Controls #

We have had our Calender Controls out for a while but we never had an evaluation version to help customers decide if the control meets their needs.  Internally we have already used it in projects and meets our needs very well.

Today we just released an Evaluation version of the control with a sample application with full source.  If you run the sample on a Windows Mobile 5 device it will actually use the Microsoft.WindowsMobile.PocketOutlook classes.

Here is a screen shot:

Go ahead and evaluate the controls.  Tell  us what you like or don't like or things you would like to see.

Smart Device Framework 2.0 Extensions for Visual Studio#

We at OpenNETCF have released Smart Device Framework 2.0.  You will notice that we have added 'Extensions for Visual Studio' to the name because it is tightly integrated with Visual Studio 2005 and to distiguish it from the free SDF 2.0.

We have also updated the free version to keep it inline with SDF2.0 Extensions for VS.  If you have been using the free version of SDF2.0 here are a list of changes from the date of release.

June 6, 2006
------------
OwnerDrawnList - Resolved design time error when control was dropped onto form from toolbox
SmartList - Resolved design time bug where the SmartList size was 0,0
ColorDialog - Added bitmap image to be used instead of the default cog
Environment2 - Changed GetFolderPath to not throw exception (desktop consistency). Added some new SpecialFolder constants defined in WM5.0 (and present in desktop framework)
ConnectionManager - Resolved erratic error messages when establishing a connection synchronously

Check out the SDF2.0 product page for pricing details on SDF2.0 Extensions for VS and if you don't need the source or all the other features you still have the option of downloading the free version available here.

If you are wondering why we are now charging for an 'open' code please see here.
