It was only going to be a matter of time before consumer AC circuits would be exploited for home networking and why not. It's a huge, untapped, all-ready-to-go resource that is installed in billions of homes around the world.

It's sheer simplicity is what will make it attractive to many consumers. I've lost track of the number of conservations I've had with non-technical people about setting up their home networks, but the one message I've taken away from 100% of those conversations is that it is still too hard for the average consumer.
